Last week, there were some energy bites vibes in the air. My friend, Courtney made some delicious summery citrus energy bites and my sister in-law, Nu made some really delicious ones rolled in chia seeds. In addition to that, H and I were thinking of ways to cut back on our sweet treats (ice-cream, cake and chocolate) and energy bites popped up in conversation. Naturally, I can’t seem to get energy bites out of my head or taste buds so I have decided to make some too. I had some pistachios handy and totally think that these pretty green bites will inspire the inner Hulk in you.
Happy Labour long weekend to all my Melbourne friends!
Oh my Pancakes! I can’t believe it is March already. I am still reporting from our hotel room, we are here for another week then we move into my sister’s spare bedroom for a couple of weeks. The good news is that we are finally moving ahead with our repairs and we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hooray!
I have tried to re-use ingredients to minimise waste, its been working really well. So when I was feeling a little peckish, I scoured the cupboards to see what I had to whip up a quick snack. I found some leftover ricotta in the fridge and decided to try my hand at making ricotta pancakes.Continue Reading
So this year, I decided to take some time away from over stimulation of technology and revert back to a simpler and more rewarding hobby – reading. I became inspired by Sally’s ‘2015 Reading Challenge‘ to rediscover the joy of reading although I must say, I am not quite ready to tackle that specific reading challenge just yet.
When I was growing up, I LOVED to read. I read everything from Dr. Seuss, Enid Blyton, Beatrix Potter to The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, Sweet Valley High series. As I got older, I devoured the romantic classics of Jane Austen, the Brontes, Charles Dickens and even attempted Lord Byron. I discovered my love for non-fiction history books and on some occasions, when it was bright outside and I knew nothing sinister could get to me… some creepy stories by R.L .Stine and gothic tales by Anne Rice. I also really loved those ‘Choose your own adventure books’. How awesome were they? It was seriously the best thing to do on a slow weekend, learning the powerful lesson of choice and consequences.Continue Reading
Greetings from a Hotel Room!
Sadly this is not a greeting from an exotic holiday destination. This is a greeting from our temporary home.
We are in a hotel room till March as H and I have had to move out of our new apartment due to a washing machine related flood (which happened 5 days before our wedding last December). After a couple of months of trying to get everything back the way it is, we finally managed to get someone to have a look at the floors to assess the damage and it was not pretty. Our floorboards were now harbouring mould under them. Not exactly the way we wanted to start 2016 – so much for a lucky no.13 apartment!Continue Reading
